Ms. Torey McMurdo, a senior at Valley Center High School, was this year’s winner of the Municipal Water District’s District Scholar Award for her essay on the role of California’s Special Districts. W.D. “Bill” Knutson, President of Yuima’s Board of Directors, presented her with a certificate and a check for $500 at Yuima’s Board meeting on April 28^th.   Her winning essay was submitted by Yuima to the California Special District’s Association, where it also won for Torey a $1,000 CSDA scholarship award.
